About
The Trade is a project by cinderhouse.
Our goal is to keep trading up until we generate enough value to create a retreat for creatives and artists-in-residence whose work sits within cinderhouse's orbit, the experimental, the strange, the underfunded, the philanthropic, to ideate, work, and create together. The Trade is an experiment in seeing if we can get there.

How It Works

The Destination
The goal at the end of the trades is a physical studio, somewhere between a retreat and workshop. A permanent place where artists-in-residence work on the things cinderhouse cares about: fundraising, philanthropy, art, and the weird creative edges between them.
We'll design it together, with the people who helped us trade our way there and with the AI tools we use to think out loud. When it's built, the door stays open. Residents come. Projects leave. The next cohort arrives.
